The project is completely open source and enthusiasts from any fields who can contribute and learn are welcomed.
We want to develop revolutionary life support systems that go far beyond current water recycling and atmosphere processing to create self-sustaining biospheres capable of supporting large populations on Mars. We want to increase the efficiency of the Sabatier reactor on the International Space Station. Our mission and vision is the development of truly closed-loop systems that can maintain themselves for centuries while supporting complex ecosystems, which represents one of the most challenging yet essential technologies for interplanetary civilization. We envision harnessing quantum technology's ability to model complex molecules, which will eventually enable accurate simulation of biological processes, ecosystem interactions, and atmospheric chemistry essential for creating stable biospheres and synthetic approaches to life support that can process the atmosphere, food production, and waste recycling. The ability to model these interactions at the molecular level would enable the design of robust ecosystems capable of adapting to changing conditions over centuries. Automated optimization of these environments by using Next Martian AI and quantum optimization tools. Our R&D on this subject will play a crucial role in restoring damaged ecosystems on Earth and creating sustainable closed-loop communities that eliminate waste and environmental impact.
We invite scientists, visionaries, and common people who are interested in quantum biosensors, neural networks, cyanobacteria bioreactors for O2 production, aeroponic food production systems using Martian regolith simulant substrates, ACLS, and protein folding simulations. We invite Space Bioprocess Engineers, Exo-Ecological System Designers, and Radiation Biologists.
Phase 1 milestones include: Next Martian will focus on R&D of biosphere engineering technologies that create Earth-like environments within controlled habitats. R&D on self-maintaining environments that can evolve and adapt over geological timescales. Partnering with QuTech Quantum Inspire, C-DAC Bangalore (Qniverse Platform), Quantum Hydroponics Test.
